(Official) Meet Korea's New Fighter Jet - First test Flight the KF-21 Was Seen Carrying ALCM and Meteor Missile
On July 19, 2022, a new KF-21 Boramae Fighting hawk aircraft took to the skies from Sacheon air base near Busan.
The test flight was conducted by Major Ahn Joon-hyun, a flight test pilot belonging to the Air Force's 52nd Test Evaluation Squadron.
You know, where did that train go?
This joint project of South Korea and Indonesia has been plagued with problems for years and many doubted its purpose and feasibility, but with the successful development of the T-50 and its later fighter variant FA-50, KAI or the Korean aerospace industry proved that they are capable of developing a jet. supersonic.
Now with the inroads into the European market with Poland acquiring 48 of the type, the future looks bright for the Korean defense industry and frightening for South Korea's adversaries.

The Northrop Grumman B-21 Raider is an American strategic bomber under development for the United States Air Force (USAF) by Northrop Grumman. As part of the Long Range Strike Bomber (LRS-B) program, it is to be an advanced, very long-range, large, heavy-payload stealth intercontinental strategic bomber for the USAF, able to deliver conventional and thermonuclear weapons.
Six B-21 are being manufactured as of February 2022. The first B-21 was moved to a calibration facility in March 2022.
Northrop said in May the first B-21 finished its first of a series of ground tests at Plant 42. That phase included loads calibration tests, meant to verify the bomber’s structural integrity by subjecting it to stress, among other tests.
The following phases of the B-21 ground tests were to involve powering up the bomber and testing its subsystems, and applying coatings and paint, Northrop said in its May statement.
The B-21 Raider will incrementally replace the B-1 Lancer and B-2 Spirit to perform both conventional and nuclear missions alongside the Boeing B-52 Stratofortress. As the Air Force transitions to a two-bomber fleet, the strategy to bed down the new B-21 bomber has been to minimize operational impacts, maximize reuse of existing facilities and reduce overhead as much as possible.
Unveiling Dec. 2, 2022, Air Force acquisition chief Andrew Hunter said Tuesday.
Hunter, during a roundtable with reporters at the Air Force Association’s Air Space Cyber conference, revealed the B-21 rollout will take place sometime during the first week of December. Other details of the roll-out are still being finalized, he said.
It will be the first time the Air Force has unveiled a new bomber since the B-2 Spirit November 1988 debut at Air Force Plant 42 in Palmdale, California. The B-2 first flight took place in July 1989.
The new, Northrop Grumman-made bomber has so far only been glimpsed in concept art. Its first flight is expected to come sometime in 2023, a few months after the rollout. Northrop said in a release after Hunter announcement that the date of the first flight will be set based on the results of ground tests.
Before the B-21 first flight from Plant 42 to Edwards Air Force Base in California, Northrop Grumman will carry out engine runs and low- and high-speed taxi tests. Formal flight tests for the bomber will take place at Edwards.
In September 2022, the USAF announced that the B-21 is to be unveiled in early December 2022 in Palmdale, California. The unveiling ceremony for B-21 is to be held at Northrop Grumman production facilities in Palmdale, California on 2 December 2022.

Turkey Launches New Alpagut Smart Ammunition System (Kamikaze UAV Alpagut)
New Alpagut Smart Munition System ROKETSAN and STM from Turkey Introduce Alpagut (New Intelligent Loitering Ammunition)
The Apagut Intelligent Loitering Ammunition System, which will be developed by ROKETSAN and STM, was introduced for the first time.
Turkish company ROKETSAN and STM in collaboration, have jointly developed Alpagut, a new type of roaming ammunition that was launched during the SAHA Expo, a defense exhibition held in Istanbul, Turkey from October 25 to 28, 2022.
The President of the Presidency of Defense Industries, Ismail Demir, hopes to increase the range and capability of the circulating ammunition.
Turkey deserves much more beautiful and better products, The effectiveness and importance of Intelligent Loitering Munitions has been increasing gradually in recent years amid ongoing wars and conflicts in different parts of the world.
General Manager of ROKETSAN, Murat Iki said, that Alpagut tried to be implemented with a compact design to meet the needs of ammunition thrown from UAVs.
General Manager of STM Ozgur Guleryuz said that as a company, they have products that can be called outstanding ammunition and kamikaze drones in the mini UAV category.
Guleryuz continued: “On top of STM capabilities such as artificial intelligence, intelligent systems and image processing, serious competencies are also emerging on the aviation side. Products made by our ROKETSAN in ammunition are self-explanatory. It has capabilities in ammunition, propulsion systems, target tracking-finding systems. Cooperating with STM and ROKETSAN. We evaluate that there is very serious potential in this. Alpaggets won't be the first product, there will be more to come."
ROKETSAN is the center of Türkiye rocket and missile production, and STM is Türkiye's leading company in the production of Tactical Mini-UAVs, two leading defense industry companies came together for the project, They have collaborated to develop ALPAGUT as a new and effective solution to meet the current needs in field.
Citing information from the Turkish company STM, ALPAGUT is a smart roaming munition also called a kamikaze drone that can be deployed from the ground or from the air. It can be launched from drones such as the Aksungur, SIHA, Bayraktar Akinci, and Bayraktar TB3 drones.
For land use, the Alpagut can also be mounted on tactical and armored vehicles and unmanned ground platforms and also on naval vessels such as the Turkish-made MILGEM Ada class corvettes and unmanned surface vessels (USV).
Alpagut will provide the ability to detect and destroy enemy elements at a distance of more than 60 kilometers and an endurance of more than 60 minutes in environments where the UAV is unreachable or risky to enter. It can carry an 11 kg warhead and can fly at an altitude of 3.5 km. Once the target is detected, it can follow it and fly in circles at an altitude of 300-1500 meters.
Alpagut can be operated during the day and night. It can be used to destroy mobile or fixed land and sea targets, radar and communication systems, lightly armored land or sea vehicles, and critical facilities such as command centers.
Once fired/released, the system will enter target detection, tracking and evaluation mode, hover in the air for a certain period of time, and then will initiate a diving attack to destroy independently identified targets after obtaining user approval from the ground.
ALPAGUT can detect and recognize targets with its two-mode seeker without being noticed, and is not affected by the jamming system. Targets can be determined with a precision-guided propulsion system. In addition to all these features, the system also offers significant advantages to its users with the fire&forget feature, and its ability to be rapidly integrated into manned and unmanned land/air/sea vehicles.
This system will be developed as a major game changer on the battlefield. Its ability to rapidly integrate with domestically produced UCAV systems will enable rapid engagement with mobile air defense systems, strategic ground elements, and asymmetric targets.
The intelligent circulating munition uses a warhead with 11 kilograms of particle effect, armor piercing and thermobaric options.
Alpagut which weighs 45 kilograms has a length of 2.3 meters and a wingspan of 2.5 meters.
